Who We Are
My family loves authentic Northern Thai food. Our recipes have traveled through many generations. I have adapted and tested them to their best versions! My fondest memories of childhood in Thailand are those of family and friends gathered at a large table to share food, laughter, stories, and enjoy being together.
About Chef Renu
Yai is the Thai word for grandmother and also what we call my mother. Everything I have learned about food, family, tradition, and community I have learned from Yai. Food is such a big part of our lives. In my home village, Ban Rong, we wake up early to greet our local monks, walk to the local market only a couple of minutes from our house, and shop for the day. Everything is fresh and local. I aim to offer the same to the customers of Yai's Kitchen!
